10. What overlays our thinking, assumptions or truth?
We constantly deal with both, so it’s a strenuous job to discern between what we know to be true and what we assume to be true. Some assumptions can incredibly resemble the truth. The norms based on beliefs often become rooted, making them feel like undeniable truths. Like, “Rich and Successful people are hardworking.” or “A large group of people can’t be wrong.” or “Being busy means being productive.” A lack of ‘complete’ information leads to assumptions. A strong sense of certainty derived from past experiences also plays a crucial role. Critical thinking involving questioning, reasoning, gathering n processing information, and being aware of rational biases would help us anticipate accurately, telling apart what we’re assuming over what’s real!
