Cherry Blossom! – A Musical Short Story

Memories of past which bring smile on your face are a treasure!…conserve those, they’ll be needed in your old days!

Ashok is helping Pramodini in arrangements for daughter-in-law’s baby shower as, after retirement he has been wife’s assistant. A couple of houses are left now to be invited.

“We need not to invite these new people who recently have bought Mehra’s house. We haven’t even met them before.” suggests Ashok in firm disagreement.

Pramodini imperatively tells him to follow without advising her anymore.

A new delightful face opens the door. With a gentle voice she greets them. In about half an hour both the ladies have developed quite an acquaintance.

“She has promised to join us for the ceremony with her husband.” Pramodini admires her new neighbor.

Ashok hasn’t spoken a word while returning to home. He looks little lost. May be bit tired.

Pramodini goes to check with Ashok’s health as he hasn’t dined today.

“Not eating won’t help you. You should be happy to see her today. If you could tell her in collage; it would have been different. Now you have me, your favorite song and her as your neighbor forever!!” Pramodini has a big grin on her face.

Both laugh…. She plays Ashok’s college-time favorite…
