ये रात की चांदनी उजली धूप का गुमाँ लगती है,
सुबह की गिरती ओस, अब्र के सब्र का इम्तेहाँ लगती हैl

मासूम सा चेहरा तेरा, निगाहें तीर-ऑ-तरकश,
हसीं तेरी कि इक ख़ंजर, तू मौत का सामां लगती हैl

रोम रोम अब जलता मेरा इश्क़में तेरे,
रूह तक मैं हूँ वाबस्ता मुश्क़ से तेरे,
सुबह की सर्द शबनम भी तू ही, तू ही जलते चाँदका अरमान लगती हैl

जानता हूँ रुख़ हवाओं का नहीं बेहतर,
साथ मेरे तू भी हो ये थोड़ा मुश्किल है,
फ़िर भी तुझको जब मैं सोचूं, बात ये आसाँ लगती हैl
